The baby shower, organised without a group chat
The shower is usually organised by somebody who is not you, in a group chat nobody can search, with a spreadsheet that only one person has. This puts it on the same link as the registry, and gives the hostess her own way in.
- A task list your helpers claim themselves — no chasing
- RSVPs with a guest count and a live "who is coming" tally
- Hostess accounts that cannot reach your billing, settings or vault
Jobs people can pick up
Add the tasks — cake, games, favours, the nappy raffle — with a category and a note. Anyone in the village can volunteer for one, and it is theirs; the site will not quietly let a second person take a job somebody already claimed. Tick them off as they are done, with the name of whoever did it.
Your admin overview tells you how many jobs still have nobody's name against them, so the gap is visible before the week of the party.
A hostess who is not you
Invite your sister or your best friend as a shower helper and she gets a one-tap link of her own. She can run the task list and the shower details — and nothing else. Helpers cannot reach billing, cannot change your settings, cannot confirm or discard gift money, cannot delete the vault, and cannot write in your journal.
That separation is enforced on the server, not merely hidden in her interface. It exists because "co-admin" in most tools means "can do absolutely everything", which is not what anyone means when they ask a friend to help with a party.
RSVPs without a separate service
Guests reply on the shower page — yes, no or maybe, with how many they are bringing and a note. The page shows a running count of who is coming and how many people that adds up to, so the hostess can tell the venue a real number. Parents can remove a joke entry.
The details everyone asks for twice
Date, time, place, theme and colours, who is hosting, how to RSVP, and your notes on the nappy raffle and the clothing sizes you still need — written once, on the page everyone already has the link to. The printable checklist carries your cash-gift handles too, for the guests who prefer paper.
What it does not do
No invitation mail-merge and no postal addresses for guests. The shower page is shared with the same link as everything else.
No seating plans, no budget tracker. This is a task list and an RSVP count, done well, not an event-management suite.
Questions
Can the hostess see the gift money?
No. Helpers are blocked from the payments tab, the confirmation queue and billing entirely — on the server, not just in the menu.
Does the hostess need an account?
She gets a one-tap magic link that expires. There is a password on the account if she ever wants one, but she never has to use it.
